Wow!! 2 days ago it was +21C and today it is -1C and snowing!!! :) love this place!

I went hiking again, this time I walked in to Fannadalur, it´s the bottom of the fjord, you just drive as far as you can, and then you just walk and walk and walk.

This place is so quiet! I just love it!
I´ve been off work now for a week and it feels like a month! So I´m ready to go back out on the boat and do some hard work!

Just hope I dont get sea-sick again :)

Hi all

Well it has now been 2 months sinse I left South Africa, and I got the best news ever the other day, Barbs and the boys are coming to Iceland!!!!

I´m flying to Paris in the end of May to meet them, and after few days there it´s off to the land of fire and ice!

I´ve been working like mad, but I didn´t go with the boat last time, because I had to sort out stuff for the big move, and of course play golf like mad :)

I joined the local golf club few days ago and I have been playing golf every day sinse, the weather has been just perfect, today it´s +18C, I think, I´ve done 9 holes and I´m going for 9 more later.

I went for a walk to Hellisfjordur, it´s a fjord next to my home town, it took me hour and a half to walk/run around the mountain, people here think I´m mad!?!?! they are probably right! :)

I took some pictures on the way, specialy of my Viking, it´s a carved out viking head that I did in 1998 and planted it in Hellisfjordur. I´m planing to make few more and put them in some weird places.

I´m going out on the boat on Thursday night and should be back a week later.

I hope you are all doing fine, and I hope one day you get to see my home town, it is by far the most peacful and beautiful place on this planet! well.... maybe not THE best place! but a pretty cool place, :)

What a weird day!

18:30 - I´m sitting at home relaxing with some red wine and the bloody phone rings, it´s the Captain of the ship (the one i was on) they need someone to come with them, like NOW!, errr... ehh hmm.... SURE!

20 minutes later I´m on my way to kill some fish!

...aaaaaand i got sea sick again! 2 loooooooooong days!!!
then when I got better I got the flu! what a crap 7 days I´ve had!

but the money is good so i dont care! :)

came back to land at 12 noon, and going back out at 18:00

Saturday morning,

pissed off today, I was waiting to see if I would be able to go out on sea with one of the ships today, and i just saw the ship sailing out the fjord! grrrrr ahhh anyway I just went outside and made a huge snowman :)

I´m allso feeling a bit sick, sore throat, must be careful
as I´m not yet in the Icelandic medical system, so it would cost me a bloody fortune if i would get sick.

But I´m not sure if part of the sicknes is just sore muscle in my neck, because every other muscle in my body is a bit sore after the snowboarding :) so maybe I pulled something in my neck too.

Last night I got home early, started to cook the chicken and drinking some nice SA red wine, 3 glasses later Siggi comes home and tells me that it´s time to go snowboarding!!

Brilliant! so of we go, up the mountain to the skilifts.

We got there just before 8pm (they close at 9) so I went to the ski-shop and asked how much it would cost me to hire a snowboard for the last hour, "nothing" he said!
Cool! and off I went for the first time on a snowboard!!

I got up the lift, and I got down the hill, and in one peace! I only fell 9 times! :)
And the last fall was nasty! Went like half a circle, on my bum, then on to the back of my head,

But I was fine and up I went again, 3 trips later and I was doing fine! didn´t try any tricks.

Ingvar (a guy who came with us) tried the jumps and landed on his right bum cheek, he sat there for awaile holding his ass, he thought he had torn the hole! hehehehe
but he was alright.
